Virginia Attorney General Attempts to Ban Sodomy

Came across this news piece today: the Virginia Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli, who is also a one of Virginia's gubernatorial candidates, is asking the 4th circuit court to reconsider a case that deemed Virginia sodomy laws unconstitutional. According to MotherJones, "the provision, part of the state's "Crimes Against Nature" law, has been moot since the 2003 US Supreme Court decision overruled state laws barring consensual gay sex, but Virginia has kept the prohibition on the books." While the case in reference involved heterosexual oral sex, Cuccinelli would like to prohibit oral and anal sex for gay and straight individuals. His position is considered by many to be directly discriminatory against gay sexual acts.
