AIDS Quilt Online

Given our discussion of the AIDS quilt project in class today, stemming from the Eaklor reading, I did some research online.  I found out that Microsoft, in cooperation with academic and non-profit organizations, has uploaded the quilt in its entirety online, which can be viewed here.  I'm not sure exactly how this is measured, but they claim it takes "over a month to view the 6000 blocks comprised of 8 panels each!"

  1. This is crazy. It really makes you realize the volume of the crisis when displayed like this. It's also neat because you can see it from a far and be amazed at the size of the devastation, then you zoom in and you are able to put names and faces to the people which is so rare in a case of mass death. Thanks so much for posting this!
